Day 2 Shopping & Eating in Tokyo

Tokyo weather had cleared up. Great views, you can see Mt. Fuji in the background of the picture; the air was clear. Off to Mitsukoshi which is a fabulous department store with all the best shops including Courtney's fav, Jurgen Lehl, whose clothing is not available in the States. If only Courtney, Ferris, Jill and EE were here! Of course this way there is no fighting over who saw it first! Cliff saw a Kimono coat he is thinking about. We spent quite a lot of time exploring the store, including the food floors. Then on to the Mandarian Oriental Hotel. It is a stunningly beautiful hotel. We had a wonderful lunch with a view. We Fedex'd a book to Ferris about the Nuno fabrics of the hotel to her. We then took the Metro (Subway) to Nuno. They were still showing fall garments. Just looked. Metro back to the hotel and took a short nap. Up and out for dinner at Kiraku. This is our favorite restaurant in Tokyo. It serves a 10 course Kanseki dinner. Each course is small and served on artistic plates or bowls. We really like the place. A very full day.

I do wish I were there to have a tug-of-war in the Jurgen Lehl dept! Wonder how many shopping bags you'd accumulated by end-of-day? And how many bottles of sake were consumed at Kiraku?
